About the S’Art Festival

The biennial S’Art Urban Art Festival is organized by Phare Ponleu Selpak and other partners in Battambang, Cambodia. The festival took place in 2019 and in 2023, after a four-year break due to the pandemic. The next S’Art Festival will take place in 2025! (See you there?)

S’Art means beautiful in Khmer, and all together the words mean the beauty of urban art. The festival aims to promote Battambang as the hub for Khmer art and culture including mural painting, food, music, fashion, dance, and architecture. Phare Ponleu Selpak organized the pilot event in 2018 as a community outreach. From there, S’Art Urban Art Festival has grown to take over all of Battambang.

Mural and ambient street art resonate in Battambang since the city hosts a number of historic buildings with plenty of alleyways and wall space. Art improves and enriches these public spaces for locals and visitors alike.
