Kak Sokphirom is self-taught photographer.
His work has been globally featured in Khmer Times newspaper, Australia Luxury Travel magazine, Cebu Air Smile magazine, to name a few.
His previous portfolios include exhibitions at Sa Sa Art Project, Tribe Cambodia, Phnom Penh Photo Festival, Rosewood Hotel, and last year’s he won awards number 1 of Fujifilm X Cambodia.
Nowadays, he organises unique Cambodian immersive photography tours (@phiromphotography) and continues to further explore his passion for both photography and his beloved country by going ‘walkabout’.
Phirom’s passions are clearly communicated through his art. His ability to connect with his surroundings and the people he encounters along the way shines through in his work. In his own words: “I photograph with my heart and my emotions. When I feel the connection to my subject, that’s when I take the picture”.
His insights, emotional connections coupled with his own hopes, dreams, fears and insecurities bring life to his work.
